International Women’s Day 2025: Equal Rights. Equal Opportunities. Equal Power.

International Women’s Day 2025 is a time to celebrate, reflect, and take action. Every year on March 8, we come together to honor the incredible achievements of women worldwide.

This year’s theme, offered by UN Women is“Equal Rights. Equal Opportunities. Equal Power.” We join this call and invite everyone to reflect and act on it.

This year, we’re cheering for a historic milestone: gender parity at the Olympic Games! For the first time ever, the 2024 Paris Olympics achieved equal representation of men and women athletes.

This year, sports once again showed that it has this magical way of bringing people together, inspiring change, and proving that equality is within reach.

But let’s not stop, let’s continue to work for equal opportunities in every arena of life, from education to workplaces to ending gender-based violence. Because when women win, we all win.

Now, let’s talk progress—because there’s so much to be proud of!

Did you know that 89% of governments are prioritizing ending violence against women? Or that 193 countries have laws in place to protect women from harm?

These steps are making a real difference, with data showing that countries with domestic violence laws are seeing fewer cases of violence against women.

We’ve also come a long way in education. We’re bridging gaps in science, technology, and leadership to create a world where everyone has a fair shot.

Plus, 32% of countries are now improving care services and working conditions for care workers—many of whom are women.

And in the realm of peace and security, 112 countries are actively involving women in decision-making processes. That’s up from just 19 countries in 2010! Progress is happening, and it’s worth celebrating.

How do we keep up this good work? Education! Our Linsenhoff Foundation is committed to the integration of children and young people from refugee and migrant backgrounds.

Supporting girls and young women is particularly important to us. Strong projects for strong girls and women!

“If you educate a woman, you educate a nation“: strong girls and women who can follow their own individual educational path lay the foundation for a change in society towards a good, democratic and fair society.

Appreciation, understanding for one another and shared democratic values are so important for us all to be able to live in peace!

We support projects which brings equality closer. For example the MädchenbüroMilena e.V. in Frankfurt, a dedicated educational and integration facility for girls and women with and without a refugee background.

Since its foundation in 2014, the association has offered a wide range of practical, educational, cultural and leisure activities tailored to the individual needs of the participants.

The meeting place offers protection, guidance and empowerment for the girls and women.

This International Women’s Day, let’s celebrate the wins, big and small.

And most importantly, let’s keep working for a world where equal rights, equal opportunities, and equal power are a reality for everyone.

Dear power women, together we can achieve a (gender) just world!

Many thanks to all the strong women for their commitment.

Let us continue to work together for equal rights for women in our world, for an equal future!

Yours

sincerely
